Soft Tissue Therapy

Soft tissue therapy is an ideal adjunct to chiropractic adjustments. Our doctors use a variety of soft tissue manipulation techniques to relieve muscle tension, decrease pain, break down adhesions, increase range of motion, and improve blood flow.  Soft tissue therapies may be introduced before or after an adjustment to maximize the therapeutic effect.

The soft tissue techniques utilized will vary according to each patient’s individual needs.  Some of the most common therapeutic techniques used include:
·      Active Release Technique (ART)
·      Pin and stretch
·      Instrument assisted soft tissue therapy (IASTM)
·      Muscle energy technique (MET)
·      Post-isometric relaxation (PIR)/Reciprocal inhibition (RI)
·      Ischemic compression and manual massage
